Hazel was born at 37 weeks and not able to breath on her own. She was born at Wright Patterson Medical Center, where they could not handle the care that she needed. Dayton Children's quickly transported her to the main campus, where she received the best care. The team at Dayton Children's was amazing. The NICU floor starts to feel like a home away from home. They have a really nice place for you to keep food stored and take your meals to. They have bathrooms with showers so that you can clean yourself up and try to feel somewhat human during this time. All of these things are so small in the grand scheme of things, but help make your stay a little bit better. Luckily, we only had to stay a week, but there are families who stay much longer. Please donate to help those families continue to receive the amazing care that Dayton Children's offers.
