Donate for Dayton Children's Hospital!
In May, we heard from Dayton Children's President & CEO, Deborah Feldman, about the newest initiative to break ground on an inpatient facility to support the pediatric mental healthcare pandemic. A sickness plaguing children around the world and projected to DOUBLE in the Miami Valley over the next 5-7 years.
In 2021 alone, hospital officials said over 1,000 children were admitted to Dayton Children’s for self-harm or depression.
“If you look at that statistic, that would say about one in five of those kids made a plan to kill themselves,” Dr. Kelly Blankenship, the associate chief medical officer at Dayton Children’s, said. “These aren’t kids from a different state. These are kids from Ohio…These are our kids.”
With staggering numbers of children facing mental health issues, health equity issues, and record numbers in respiratory illnesses, now more than ever – Dayton Children’s needs our support.
This Giving Tuesday, please join me in supporting those who support us. Not just in a medical office or inpatient facility. But, in our community, on the courts & fields, and at home.
So much goes into the well-being of our children. All money raised go directly to the hospital - even skipping Starbucks and pledging $5 helps!
Together we have a chance to help Dayton Children's Hospital and our community achieve the mission of Relentless pursuit of optimal health for every child within our reach.
