About Addie: 

​Addie’s primary handler is Sydney, who is a Certified Child Life Specialist in the Medical Imaging Department and other outpatient areas at DCH’s South Campus. They work together to encourage patients to be brave for various procedures, including MRIs, CTs, blood draws, IVs, and much more! In the MRI department, Sydney and Addie play a key role in the STAR program. STAR stands for Soaring Towards Anxiety Reduction. This program focuses on utilizing preparation and support to help patients complete an MRI exam without sedation. Kids gets more excited to get their scan done, because they have Addie to show them the ropes!

Fun Facts about Addie:

1. Addie loves ice cubes and peanut butter more than any other treat.

2. Addie knows how to “whisper,” and it is her most highly requested trick to demonstrate.

3. Addie’s favorite pasttime is swimming at the lake.
